About us

Culturapedia (UK) and PeerGroup have been working together for 3 years and produced From Stephen to Avenham (www.stephentoavenham.com) as a Preston Guild  “Made in Preston” * commission. Preston Guild is once every 20 year festival which dates back to the 11th century and is the only festival of its type in England.  These two pieces of site specific work in Stephen Park, Gisburn Forest, Bowland and Avenham Park, Preston, enabled young people from the Bowland area (Newton, Tosside, Slaidburn, Dunsop Bridge) to have the opportunity to gain new skills, improve their self confidence, meet international artists and take part in an extraordinary festival which gave them a voice on a regional stage.

In october 2014 we will continue our collaboration in the project Memories for the Future. In this we will meet young people from the Bowland area and work together to collect stories, write songs, make pictures and bury them away in a specially made time capsule in a secret location in the Hodder Valley.
